Customer ownership
When customers order through a third-party marketplace, the marketplace owns the customer relationship. When they order through your own Legways website, you collect names, emails, and order history with consent. That data is an asset you can use to build loyalty and repeat business.
On most third-party marketplaces, restaurants receive only the information needed to fulfill a single order: a first name, a masked phone number, and the order details. You usually cannot export a customer list, see email addresses, or market directly to past buyers. When a customer orders through your own website, that relationship belongs to you instead.
Customer data is only valuable if you respect it. Always get clear consent before sending marketing messages, make unsubscribe links easy to find, and honor opt-outs quickly. Email marketing should follow CAN-SPAM rules, and SMS marketing should follow TCPA requirements. When in doubt, send less often and make every message useful.
Legways captures customer accounts and order history automatically when customers order through your website. You can view this data in your dashboard and use it to understand your guests. For marketing campaigns, you can connect your preferred email or SMS tool. Legways does not lock you into a specific marketing platform.
